No Bake Chocolate Hazelnut Tart

What a quick, decadent, and easy recipe! It takes about 30 minutes to make and an hour to set. I have made this recipe with chocolate biscuits, but it is also lovely with plain ones too. This no bake chocolate hazelnut tart is rich and delicious with a gooey centre. Serve with ice cream and whipped cream.

Filling Ingredients:

A slice of No Bake Chocolate Hazelnut Tart with whipped cream and a strawberry, served on a blue plate, dusted with powdered sugar.
  • 250g dark chocolate buttons

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 1 tin of sweetened condensed milk

  • 100g chopped roasted hazelnuts

Tart Base Ingredients:

  • 2 packets of chocolate ripple biscuits

  • 125g melted butter

Method:

  1. Place the biscuits into a plastic bag and crush them until they are crumbs using a heavy implement. Add the melted butter and mix well. Spray a 300mm scalloped tart pan with oil and press the crumb mixture into it to make the base. Refrigerate for ½ hour until it is firm.

  2. Put the condensed milk, salt, and chocolate buttons into a ceramic bowl and start melting them in the microwave at 1-minute intervals. Continue this process, stirring thoroughly until all the buttons are fully melted. Add the nuts and mix together.

  3. Remove the base from the refrigerator and pour the filling into it. Return to the refrigerator until it has set.

I tend to cut it into small wedges as it is very rich.
